Robert Lee Smith

Robert Lee Smith, age 69, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2024 at his residence. He was born February 18, 1955 to the late Harold Badgley and Nellie McKinney Badgley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Smith. Robert was a US Navy Sea Bee and a truck driver for Humphrey Masonry. He enjoyed fishing, building military models and drinking coffee with the guys at Humphrey masonry. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons Robert H. Smith (Nichole) of Crossnore, North Carolina and Orrie Lee Smith (Jennifer) of Banner Elk, North Carolina; three grandchildren; three aunts, Linda McKinney-Clark of Newland, North Carolina, Mary Dillenger of Florida and Fredia McKinney of Newland, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and cousins and Humphrey Masonry Construction Crew. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Wednesday July 17th, 2024 at 1 pm with Military honors to be accorded by The Johnson County Honor Guard.
