Robert Wayne "Charlie" Stamper, age 69, of Butler, Tennessee passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 at his residence. He was a son of the late Henry Stamper and Rosetta Hicks Stamper. Mr. Stamper was a member of Doe Valley Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, racing, and Lake Watauga. He was a United States veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Stamper.
Survivors include: his Berlina Stamper of the home; two daughters: Dana Stamper and husband Danny Coldwell and Paula Stamper and husband Mark Russell, both of Elkhart, Indiana; one stepdaughter: Peggy Clevenger and husband Johnny of Elkhart, Indiana; two sons: Greg Stamper and Allan Stamper both of Elkhart, Indiana; two stepsons: Randy Streetman and wife Debbie of Elkhart, Indiana and Rick Streetman and wife Lisa of Fort Knox, Kentucky; one sister, Janie Snyder of Butler, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Robert Wayne ?Charlie? Stamper will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Don Everheart officiating. Military graveside services and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be selected later. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Stalcum. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
