Roger Keith Oliver, age 50, of 239 Jimmy Hollow Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. He was born on February 25, 1955 in Jacksonville, Florida to James and Geneva Davis Oliver, of Banner Elk, North Carolina. He was a former employee of NASA. Roger enjoyed computers, wood working, cooking and boating. He was a former United States Marine Corps. Roger was of the Baptist faith. In additioin to his parents, Roger is survived by his wife, Frances Fowler Oliver, of the home; one daughter, Holly Marie Oliver of Pasadena, Maryland; one step-daughter, Allyson Ricci and husband Shawn of Gaffney, South Carolina; one son, Jason James Oliver, Pasadena, Maryland; two brothers: Ron Oliver of Meritt Island, Florida and Richard D. Oliver of Lyndon, North Carolina; two step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services for Roger Oliver will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:30 -2:00 p.m. prior to Services. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 239 Jimmy Hollow Road, Butler, Tennessee 37640.
