Obituary for: Ronnie B. Greer Mr. Ronnie B. Greer, age 77, of 1331 Doe Creek Road, Butler, Tennessee and formally of Athens, Tennessee, passed away at the Charles George Veterans Administration Medical Center in Asheville, NC on Saturday, March 23, 2013 following a brief illness. Ronnie was born on May 24, 1935, to the late Art Greer and Hollie Belle Snyder Greer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: J.D. Greer, Gene Greer, Dean Greer, and Ray Greer and four sisters: Arzella Johnson, Ancil Mahala, and twin infant sisters. Mr. Greer attended the Billss Creek Baptist Church and was a United States Army Veteran having served during Korea. His hobbies included playing Rook, gardening, bird watching, and just the outdoors in general. Ronnie is survived by two daughters: Janet Greer, of Fleetwood, NC and Linda M. Greer, of Athens, TN. Former wife and mother of his children; Linda Gay Greer of Fleetwood, NC 2 Sisters; Reba Salmons of Mountain City, TN and Louella Dowell of Mountain City, TN Special Niece, Sandra Osborne Tanner, of Elizabethton, TN. Many other nieces and nephews also survive. Special Friends: Lloyd Hasty of Woodlawn, NC and Charlotte McDaniel of Marion NC Funeral services for Ronnie B. Greer will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Woods officiating. Music will be provided by Larry and Brenda Barry. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Military Graveside service and burial will be conducted Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. from the Sunset Memorial Park accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers; Joe Osborne, Buck Salmons, Steve Osborne, and David Rudd. At other times friends may call at the residence of a sister, Reba Salmons, 518 East Main Street, Mountain City at anytime.
