Ruby Alzenia Gentry

Ruby A. Gentry, age 91, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Doss and Lura Widener Doss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Gentry and a daughter, Wanda Jean Gentry. Also a sister, Lucille Doss Thomas and husband Roy Thomas, Sr.; Brothers, Roy Doss, Sr. and Raymond Doss and wife Vella Gentry Doss. Ruby's hobbies were singing, playing guitar, writing songs and poems and herbal remedies. Survivors include: sisters, Beulah Jean Doss Murphy and Bertie Mae Doss Gentry and sister-in-law, Jean Doss; brothers, Kenneth Doss, Sr. and wife Ruth Doss and Dennis Doss and wife Thelma Doss. Nieces and nephews: Alan Doss, Linda Wright, Roy Thomas Jr., L. J. Doss, Larry Doss, Kathy Doss Keith, Randy Doss and Angela Doss Owens, Theresa Gentry, Kenneth Gentry and Kenneth Doss, Jr. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for Ruby Alzenia Gentry will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, Mountain City, Tennessee. Visitation for family and friends will be 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service. Music will be by the Mountain Valley Boys. Graveside service and interment will follow memorial service at the State Line Cemetery. Active pallbearers are "CARE GIVERS", Glenda G.
