Ruby Johnson

Ruby Maxine Johnson, age 70, of 1869 Fall Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the Watauga Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Ashe County, North Carolina, she was born July 20, 1933 to the late Arie and Bertha Lewis Potter. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three sisters and one grandson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Ruby was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Ruby is survived by her husband Jasper Dean Johnson of the home, one daughter; Norma Jean Johnson of Mountain City, Tennessee, one son; Kenneth Dean Johnson of Mountain City, Tennessee, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Ruby Maxine Johnson will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. David Bentley and Rev. Doug Stidham to officiate. Family will receive friends 6-7:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Johnson Cemetery.
