Obituary for: Rudd Martin, Jr. Rudd Martin, Jr., age 69, 128 Antioch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born May 11, 1946 to the late Russ Martin and Verlene Jennings Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Hall Martin, who also passed away in 2015. He loved spending time with his family and his extended family. He was an avid shooter and loved going to turkey shoots. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Karen Martin Pena and husband Jesse, Elizabethton, TN. Special niece, Gail Gambill and husband, Sonny Gambill, Mountain City, TN. Two sisters, Phyllis Reece, Mountain City, TN and Shirley Rhymer, Mountain City, TN. One brother, Ronnie Martin, Mountain City, TN. One granddaughter, Raven Pena and special friend Levi Jones, both of Elizabethton, TN. Also surviving, are nieces and nephews, Steve Rhymer, Beverly Osborne, Jim Reece and Jeff Reece. Graveside services for Mr. Martin will be conducted Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. from the Hammons Cemetery with Rev. Richard Stout and Rev. Kenny Ray Vaught officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday evening, October 5, 2015 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel at Hux Lipford Funeral Home. Active pallbearers are Jim Reece, Jeff Reece, Dirk Simcox, Frank Osborne, Chris Pierce, Jerald Price, Sonny Gambill and Steve Rhymer. Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Earl Taylor, Carl Williams, Bill Hammons, Mike May, Rick Price, Keith Wilson, Frank McAllister, John Seats, Bob Heck, Michael Caputo and Larry Wilson. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Mountain City Care Center, Mountain City, TN, Mountain States Home Health, the Regional Cancer Center, the staff of Dr. Donald Walters office and the many friends who visited Mr. Martin faithfully.
