Ruth Dugger, age 69, of Butler, TN passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Johnson County Community Hospital following an extended illness. She was born March 19, 1944 to the late Herbert and Bonnie Banner Miller. She was a member of Elk Mills Christian Church and her hobbies included cooking, gardening and canning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: E. C. Miller and Roger Miller and one sister: Dorothy Hazelwood. Survivors include: her husband of 52 years, Earl W. Dugger; one daughter: Melissa "Missy" Davenport and husband George of Butler, TN; one son: Terry Dugger and wife Betty of Butler, TN; two sisters: Gail Evans and Eula Reece, both of Butler, TN; four brothers: Wayne Miller of Hampton, TN; Jerry Miller, Don Miller and Ed Miller, all of Butler, TN; three grandchildren: Toni and Seth Payne of Mountain City, TN; Marcus and Bobbi Davenport of Elizabethton, TN and Jessica Davenport of Butler, TN; one great grandchild: Emmett Payne and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ruth Dugger will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 from Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Dugger, Mr. Gary Bowman, Mr. Andy Lunceford and Mr. Allen Koch officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. - 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Davenport, Marcus Davenport, Seth Payne, Bud Hazelwood, Chris Miller, Chad Miller, James Miller, Scott Miller, Matthew Miller and John Miller.
