Ruth Wachtstetter

May 22, 1925 — February 19, 2010

Mrs. Ruth Bair Wachtstetter, age 84, of 13457 Highway 67W, Butler, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly at Johnson City Medical Center on Friday evening, February 19, 2010.  She was the daughter of the late Ralph Emerson and Mary Elizabeth Bair.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Wachtstetter; three sisters Norma Schuetter, Beverly Cummins and Mary Lou DeMoss.  Ruth loved reading, sewing and traveling.  She was a charter member of St. James Lutheran Church and a member of the Sigma Beta Tau Chapter.


 


Survivors include three daughters: Mary Ann Niesse and husband Tom, Rebecca Wilmes and husband Steve and Kathie Watson and husband David; one sister: Lillian Spivey and husband Arnold; eight grandchildren: Megan Watson, Emilie Watson, Rachael Watson, Jason Niesse, Amy Niesse, Joshua Niesse, Matthew Ward and Eric Ward; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Tommy Lee, the actor.


 


It was Mrs. Wachtstetter’s wishes to be cremated and there will be no formal service held at this time.


 


At other times friends may call at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and David Watson 995 Pine Orchard Road, Butler, Tennessee at any time.
