Sally Blevins

Sally Ann Blevins, age 100, formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Blevins was the daughter of the late Stacy and Mary Alice Mains Tester. In additions to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Blevins on August 6, 1976; eight brothers and sisters: Connie McElyea, Zilda Mains, Blanche Morefield, Claude Tester, George Tester, Lucy Arnold, Jack Tester and Robert Tester. Sally was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church and also attended Central Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Rexall Drug Store in Mountain City, Tennessee and Sanders Confectionary in Detroit, Michigan. Ms. Blevins loved sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking. Survivors include: one daughter: Mary Kathleen Lambert of Shelby Township, Michigan, Michigan; one son: D. L. Blevins of Roseville, Michigan; one sister: Nell Arnold of Mountain City, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ms. Sally Blevins will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Arnold officiating. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Crull, Billy Roberts, David Blevins, Chris Blevins, Cody Blevins, Gary Crull and Eddie Hassett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Severt, Devon Severt, Chad Severt, Johnny Arnold, Shane Crull, Jack Arnold, Ashton Smith and Jett Arnold. Graveside services and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the services. At other times friends may call at the residence of her sister, Nell Arnold (727-6757), 895 Sandy Road, Mountain City, Tennessee.
