Samuel Luther Cornett, age 46, of 1255 Eggers Branch Road, Trade, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008. He was the son of Pauline Eggers Cornett and the late Luther Cornett. Mr. Cornett attended God’s Country Church. His hobbies included playing the guitar, singing and building. Samuel was a carpenter and craftsman.
Survivors include: three daughters: Christine Cornett, Hannah Cornett and Helen Cornett, all of Boone, NC; two sons: Adam Cornett of Johnson City, TN and Alex Cornett of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters: Virginia Trivette and husband John of Drexel, NC and Mary Trivette and husband Jimmy of Deep Gap, NC; six brothers: Dallas Cornett and wife Mamie and Lloyd Cornett and wife Wanda, both of Granite Falls, NC; Joe Cornett and wife Kerwin and Mike Cornett and wife Kitty, both of Mountain City, TN; Jerry Cornett and Randy Cornett and wife Phyllis, both of Trade, TN. Several nieces and nephews and many special friends also survive.
Funeral services for Samuel Cornett will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Ronnie Manuel and Mr. Bud Gentry officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Randy Cornett, Dwayne Cornett, Lloyd Eric Cornett, Johnny Trivette, Darrell Potter and Josh Cornett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Cornett, Jimmy Trivette, Lane Miller and Ronnie Garland. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral service.
