Samuel E. (Sam) Wilson, age 79, of 1450 Rainbow Road, Mountain City, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord March 12, 2011. Mr. Wilson was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mountain City, Tennessee. Mr. Wilson was a Veteran of the U.S. Army; was retired from Chrysler Motors after 33 years. His hobbies were woodworking and gardening. In addition to his parents, Lafayett and Hessie Phillips Wilson, a Grandson Christopher Wilson of Delaware, died in 1998, all preceding him in death. Survivors: Wife: Barbara Warren Wilson, Mountain City, Tennessee 2 Sons: David and wife Tanya Wilson, Newark, Delaware Douglas and wife Mary Kay Wilson, Newark, Delaware 3 Sisters: Mary Shepherd, Rising Sun, Maryland Grace and husband Clay Osborne, Mountain City, Tennessee Willa Mae Arnold, Mountain City, Tennessee Brother: Alfred and wife Barbara Wilson, Mountain City, Tennessee Granddaughters: Karen Wilson, Englewood, Florida; Morgan Wilson, Newark, Delaware; Caitlin Wilson, Newark, Delaware Grandsons: Tyler Wilson, Englewood, Florida; D. J. Wilson, Newark, Delaware Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Samuel E. (Sam) Wilson will be conducted at 8 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Mountain City, Tennessee with Rev. Jim Norman officiating. Music will be by Christina Lewis. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11 A.M. Pallbearers: Billy Ward, Mark Ward, Melvin Humphrey, Steven Hackney, Michael Wilson, Steve Kidd, Shane Humphrey and Tony Griffith. Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Wilson, Gene Hackney, Keith Mullen, David Forrester, Jim McCulloch, Robbie McCulloch, Roman Walters and Howard Morefield. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or at the residence 1450 Rainbow Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Music Department, 3385 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
