Sarah Kate Tester

Sarah Kate Tester, age 87, of 844 Arnold Town Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Johnson County, Tennessee on March 15, 1919, the daughter of the late John Hamilton Arnold and Rachel Tester Arnold. In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, William Claude Tester; one brother, Marshall Arnold; one sister, Velma Mink and one daughter-in-law, Betty Pennington Tester. Sarah enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning. She was a member and former Sunday School Teacher of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Sarah is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Jana Lee (Tester) and Robert Wilcox and Barbara (Tester) and Donald Eller; three sons and one daughter-in-law: Ernest Tester, Worley R. Tester and J.R. and Phyllis Tester, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, Duff and Nell Arnold of Mountain City, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter who is expected in May of 2007; several nieces and nephews and many, many special dear friends also survive. Funeral Services for Sarah Kate Tester will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from the Locust Gap First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Lewis, Rev. Shannon Courtner, Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Ray Slemp to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Jeff Wilcox, Rev. Shannon Courtner and the Locust Gap First Freewill Baptist Church Choir. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the Funeral Services at the Church. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Gambill-Springs Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Robert Wilcox, Donald Eller, Jeff Wilcox, Greg Wilcox, Norman Tester, Chad Eller, Richard Eller, Chip Wilcox, Wayne Tester and Shawn Tester. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jackie Arnold, Bob Mink, Bill Mink, Dean Mink, Johnny Arnold, Jay Mink, Jett Arnold, Mack Arnold, Lewis Arnold, Ray Mink, Rita Wall, Brenda Reece, Dr. Robert Griffith and Members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad.
