K. Scott Borum, age 50, of 1991 Hwy 421 North, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Scott was born on December 28, 1963 in Athens, TN to Bob Borum and June Snider Borum. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Coralee and Sam Snider and Sara and Glen Borum. He was of the Christian faith. Scott was a United States Army Veteran, while serving in the Army he worked at Walter Reed Medical Hospital in Washington, DC. He was president of Borum Health Care, LLC and was the owner of Johnson County Family Funeral Services, LLC. He enjoyed fishing, boating, working on cars, Tennessee Football and spending time with his family. Survivors in addition to his parents include; his wife, Jessica Borum, three daughters: Sarah Elizabeth Begely and husband Nicholas of Noblesville, IN, Abigale Coralee Borum of Mountain City, TN and Stella Grace Vernon of Mountain City, TN; one son: Joshua Scott Borum of Windfall, IN and three grandchildren: Collin Begley, Gavin Begley and Keelan Rhea Borum, several cousins also survive. Funeral Service for K. Scott Borum will be conducted on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Charles B. Hux Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Dwayne Dickson to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Josh Borum, Tim Royston, Doug Johnson, John Vernon, Evan Vernon, Luke Fowler, Jon Munns, Dave Park and Rick Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Begley, Dan Lipford, Bob Borum, Damon Cotter, Matt Fowler and many close and special friends. Military graveside service and entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February, 18, 2014 from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. and travel in procession to Sunset Memorial Park. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.huxlipfordfh.com. .
