Scott Morefield, age 73, of 1153 Gentry Creek Road, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee passed away at his residence Monday, July 16, 2007. He was born April 18, 1934 to the late Floyd and Lucy Abel Morefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Morefield, and five brothers: Marvin, Robert, Homer, Jim, and Charlie Morefield. Mr. Morefield was a retired pastor and a United States Marine Corp veteran having serving during the Korean War. Mr. Morefield is survived by his wife, Juanita Morefield; two daughters, Shelby Mitchell and Susan Taylor, both of Laurel Bloomery; one son, Junior Morefield of Laurel Bloomery; one sister, Ruth Martin of Laurel Bloomery; two brothers, Sam Morefield and Paul Morefield both of Laurel Bloomery; six grandchildren: Eddie and Anthony Horne, Lucinda Taylor, Sonya Eckard, Travis Taylor, and Nathan Taylor; two great grandchildren: Alexis and Cheyenne Eckard; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Scott Morefield will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, with Mr. James Gentry and Mr. Steve Spratlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. prior to the services. Military graveside services will be conducted Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from the State Line Cemetery accorded by Johnson County Honor Guard. Pall bearers will be family and friends. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 1153 Gentry Creek Road, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.hux-lipford.com.
