Sharon G. Huskins, age 54, of 1062 Harbin Hill Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Saturday, November 22nd 2003 at the Watauga County Medical Center, Boone, N.C. following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, she was born July 5th 1949 to the late John Henry Horne and Mollie Mae Heaton, Horne. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Barton and Ed Horne. Sharon was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, a former employee of the Mountain City Glove Plant, and a 1969 Graduate of The Johnson County High School. She enjoyed Painting and being active with Relay for life. Sharon is survived by her Husband; Larry Dale Huskins of the home. (1) Son; Kevin Dale Huskins and wife Meghan Elizabeth Chambers Huskins, of Mountain City, Tennessee. (4) Sisters; Carolyn Woods, Mountain City, Tennessee. Mary Smiley, Morganton, N.C. Francis Baynard, Morganton, N.C. Peggy Sheets, Powder Springs, Ga. (2) Brothers; David Horne, Elkin, N.C. Junior Horne, Perryman Md. Special Friends; George and Suanne Buss, of Mountain City, Tennessee. Several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services for; Sharon G. Huskins will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24th 2003 from the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday prior to services. A Private Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, Morning November 25th 2003 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Bob Horne, Scott Woods, Joey Dishman, Jerry Horne, Dean Dikes, and Gary Horne. Honorary Pallbearers are: Deacons of the First Freewill Baptist Church, George Buss Dr. Herman Godwin, and Nurse Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huskins family c/o Hux-Lipford funeral Home 300 west Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee. Friends may call the home 1062 Harbin Hill Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. Sharon will be taken to the Church at 4;30 P.M. Monday where she will lie in state prior to the services.
