Sharon Thompson

Sharon Thompson peacefully passed away on Thursday March 13th, 2025. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 17th,1941 to John Feller and Francis Tennes Feller. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry Thompson.

She leaves behind her daughter Donna Thompson Swanay, son-in-law Bob Swanay and granddaughter Susan Swanay; brothers and sisters, Harold Feller & Irma, Joann Schmelz & David, Ronnie Feller & Donna, Nita Eggers & Larry, Karen Runge, Kevin Feller & Angela, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also special family friend Linda Crowe-Mazza.

Sharon met her late husband Terry while he was in the army in St. Louis. She moved with him to Mountain City, where they raised their daughter Donna. Sharon was a member of Liberty Christian Church. She enjoyed singing at church, and had many hobbies, particularly art and crafts. She also enjoyed crocheting, and playing cards. Sharon was an excellent seamstress.  Despite the distance, she remained very close with her large family in Missouri. She had a big, unforgettable personality, and a distinctive laugh that her friends and family won’t forget, and neither will her neighbors. She adored her granddaughter, Susan, and never tired of spending time with her.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m at Hux Lipford Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The procession for the graveside service at Philippi Cemetery will immediately follow, with Reece Widner officiating.
