Stephanie Martitia Nave Combs

Stephanie Martitia Nave Combs, age 85 and a resident of Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Clinton, Tennessee, died Sunday, August 10 at Windwood Nursing Home. She was born August 12, 1917 in Shouns, TN. She graduated in 1940 from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Home Economics. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She taught Home Economics in Jamestown, Tn at Avin C. York Institute, worked with Farm Security Administration as a Home Economist, and later as a teacher in Anderson County. She and her husband lived in Oak Ridge until retirement when they moved to Mountain City, TN. She was a faithful member of Mountain City Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Norah Baker Nave, sisters Maude Nave, Ruth Nave Rheinschild, Mae Nave, and Eula Nave Lowe, She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wilburn combs; sons Steven and wife Bebe Combs of Clinton, TN and Douglas Combs of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren Melissa Combs Dyson and husband Henry of Columbia, Mo, Meredith Combs Reed and husband Marty of Nashville, TN, Renee Combs of Johnson City, TN and Amy Combs of Knoxville, TN, nephew John and wife Dara Lowe of Mountain City, nieces Anne Lowe Blackwood of Durham, NC and Caroline Rheinschild Miller of Honolulu, Hawaii. Funeral Services for Stephanie Martitia Nave Combs will be held 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, TN with Mr. Clarence Durham to officiate. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the Baker Family Cemetery in Mountain City, TN.
