Stephen Capps

Stephen Dale Capps passed peacefully at home with his wife by his side February 21, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his mother,  Opal Louise Brown Capps of North Carolina and baby son.

Stephen retired from the United State Army in 1986.  He and his wife, Patricia had many adventures together.  Both worked for the State of North Carolina and  decided to drive long haul OTR for TRL Trucking and WLA Trucking as team drivers.  Stephen and Patricia were together for 21 years, filled with love and laughter.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, those left to cherish his memories include his sister and brother in law Gailyn, Kevin Thompson; niece Kimberly white and husband John; son, Richard Capps; 2 daughters, Beverly and Marie; grandchild, Nigela Capps; step-son and wife, Jessie and Patty Moore; step grandchildren, Alexander and kaitlyn Wakefield and step great grandchildren, Wyatt, Mason Wakefield and Ava Wakefield and cousins, Janice and Don Smith.

We would like to thank our loving friends who have reached out with prayers and the wonderful staff of Gentiva Hospice Care.

It was Stephens wishes to be cremated and no formal services held.
