Stephen Kulin, Jr., age 78, of 8329 Highway 421 North, Shady Valley, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Kulin was a native of Carteret, New Jersey and was born to the late Michael and Veronica Novak Kulin on April 7, 1925. He was a member of Roman Catholic Church but attended Shady Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Kulin was retired from Regina Corporation in New Jersey where he worked as a machinist. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II. Mr. Kulin was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Esther Wright Kulin on June 19, 1974; two brothers, William Kulin and Andy Kulin; and one sister, Margaret Kulin. Funeral services for Stephen Kulin, Sr. will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Ranshaw and Rev. Gregory Hoover to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may also call at the residence, 8329 Highway 421 North, Shady Valley, at any time. A military graveside service will be conducted at the Gentry Cemetery accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.
