Steve M. Reece

Steve M. Reece, age 66, of 1272 Crowder Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 20, 1948 to Howard and Goldie Brayn Reece in Watauga County, N.C. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Presnell. Steve was a member of the Elk Knob Baptist Church. Mr. Reece was in the masonry profession. He loved coon hunting, playing the guitar and banjo and loved bluegrass music. Mr. Reece is survived by his wife Judy Eckard Reece; two sons: Curtis Reece and Steven W. Reece and wife Jessica all of Mountain City, TN. Two brothers, Michael Reece , Morganton, NC and Avery Reece, Maggie Valley, NC Three sisters, Rosa Lee Woodring, Boone NC; Trudy Walker, Morganton, NC; Francine Bright, Seneca SC Ten grandchildren, several great - grandchildren, several cousins and many great friends also survive. Funeral services for Steve M. Reece will be conducted Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11: 30 a.m. from the Charles B. Hux Chapel of the Hux Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Reece officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at the Mains Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends. The family will receive friends from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
