Susan G. Winters Lipford

Susan G. Winters Lipford, age 41, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at Johnson County Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Phil Winters and the late Helga Winters. Susan was a member of Ackerson Creek Christian Church and a former employee of the Bike Plant. She loved being a full time mother, sister, wife and friend to everyone and also was a volunteer with the A.C.T.I.O.N. Coalition. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a great nephew, Camren Dishman, and an aunt, Gladys Dennison. Survivors include her husband: Tommy J. Lipford of the home; one daughter: Vanessa Potter of the home; one stepson: Brandon Lipford of Mountain City, TN; her father: Phil Winters and friend Margaret Cornett; two sisters: Monika Burgess and husband John Michael of Mountain City, TN and Rosalie South of Mountain City, TN; one brother: Helmut Roth and wife Marianne of Germany; two step grandsons: Nathanial Ashenback and Gage Lipford; Nieces: Tenica South, Heather Burgess and Tiffany South; great niece: Avery Dishman; special friends: Tina and Jamie Allen, David Schnur, Patty Ambrose, Barbara Lipford, Christine Pleasant and Sue Ann Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow in The Winters Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joey Dishman, Jamie Watson, David Schnur, Dean Winters, Bobby Joe Winters and John Michael Burgess. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Johnson, Curtis Morefield, B. C. Stout, Jamie Allen, Tim Furchess, and Sam Icenhour. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel. At other times friends may call at the residence, 1500 Crossroads Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her daughter, Vanessa Potter, 1500 Crossroads Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
