Taft Eggers, age 94, of 504 Taft Eggers Lane, Trade, TN passed away Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Watauga Medical Center, Boone, North Carolina following a brief illness. Mr. Eggers was born October 28, 1908 to the late Millard Monroe and Nelia Main Eggers and was a native of Trade, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife; Rosa Miller Eggers, who passed away in 1999, one Daughter; Jean Eggers Lipford, one Daughter-in-Law; Eleanor Roberts Eggers, an infant Daughter, one Brother; Stacy Eggers, one Sister, Lola Wilson and one Son-in-law; Dick Wilson . Taft was a Farmer, Logger and a former employee of the Johnson County Highway Department. He was a member of the Centerview Church of Christ. Survivors include: (4) Daughters: Shirley Jenkins, Trade, Tennessee Sue Wilson, Mountain City, Tennessee Phyllis Parker and husband Dallas, Trade, Tennessee Wanda Brown and husband Bill, Mountain City, Tennessee (3) Sons: Earl Eggers, Mountain City, Tennessee Eddie Eggers, Powhatan, Virginia Ted Eggers and Wife Jan, Bristol, Tennessee (4) Sisters: Alice Bumgardner, Bristol, Tennessee Venie Cornett, Trade, Tennessee Inez Miller, Mountain City, Tennessee Mae Cornett, Avondale, Pennsylvania (1) Brother: Millard Eggers, Jr., Landenberg, Pennsylvania 20 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 7 Step Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. A special friend: Boyd Wilson, Mountain City, Tennessee Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Taft Eggers, age 94, of 504 Taft Eggers Lane, Trade, Tennessee will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Bud Gentry and Mr. Darrell Broking to officiate. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. prior to services. Entombment Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2003 from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are: Grandchildren, Dr. Susanne McAdams, Dr. Peter Ashline, Johnson County Rescue Squad, IMCU and ICU Nursing Staff of the Watauga Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee. Friends may also call at the residence anytime.
