Obituary for Ted Marion Taylor: Ted Taylor, age 84, of 478 Furnace Creek Road, Mountain City passed away December 27, 2010, at his residence. He was the son of the late Bruce and Emma Taylor. He was a native of Johnson County and a carpenter by trade. He was a World War I and II veteran, where he served in both the Army and the Air Force. Ted was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Taylor's Christian Church. He enjoyed reading, gardening and wood working. Besides his parents, he was preceeded in death by his wife, Ella Taylor, four brothers, Harley Taylor, Burl Taylor, Ray Taylor, Paul Taylor, and a sister Faye Smith. Survivors include: Daughter: Penny Taylor Mountain City, TN Sons Lonny Taylor Mountain City, TN Burley Taylor Mountain City, TN Grandchildren: Devin Greer Damascus, VA Debby Snyder Mountain City, TN Samantha Forrester Mountain City, TN Bud Forrester and Lisa Mountain City, TN Hannah Taylor Rhode Island Justin Taylor Mountain City, TN Wendy and Kenny Buffington Austin, TX Nine Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews Memorial Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m.on Friday, December 31, 2010 from the Eastside Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Manuel will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30p.m. To 1:00p.m.prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Burnt School House Cemetery, Pond Mountain, NC Friends and family may call at the residence at 478 Furnace Creek Road. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
