Thomas Michaels

Thomas Francis Michaels, age 49, of Newark, DE passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012. Mr. Michaels proudly served his country for 23 years as a flight engineer. He was in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard with Greg Carr and Matt Weber, "The A-Team". He served tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, The Gulf War, Bosnia and Panama. He received many medals and awards for his bravery and dignified duty while serving in the military. Mr. Michaels was also a 3rd Degree Master Mason at Soloman Lodge #36. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool with his best friend, Vinnie Lombardo. Mr. Michaels is survived by his wife, Susan Michaels; daughters, Christina and Jillian; grandchildren, Mason and Gavin; brother, Robert; sisters: June, Andrea, Judy and Angela. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Doris Michaels. Military Graveside service and Entombment will be conducted on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Sunset Memorial Park with Military Honors to be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.
