Timothy Paul "Tim" Morley, age 40, of 615 Mock Avenue, Woods Landing Apartments, Damascus, Virginia, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. He was born on August 5, 1964 in Kittery, Maine to Lester Paul Morley and Selma Shoun Fifer. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Leo Morley and maternal grandfather and grandmother, Bud and Mae Nichols Shoun. "Tim" was a 1982 graduate of Johnson County High School. He was a former Brick Mason for Campbell Company of Bristol. "Tim" was President of the Comet East Car Club, a Peer Counselor at the McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center of Richmond, Virginia, lifetime member of the PVA-Paralyzed Veterans of America and a member of the NRA-National Rifle Association. "Tim" enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. "Tim" was a member of the Mountain City Presbyterian Church. "Tim" was a C2 Quadriplegic, vent dependent, since an accident in January 1993. He was a remarkable young man and an inspiration and friend to many. He was a fighter and fought hard to live each day. He attended Woodrow Wilson Rehab Center, Shepard Rehab Center and Virginia Highlands Community College after his injury. "Tim" stated that he learned and experienced a lot being in his wheelchair. Mostly, to be "thankful." Thankful for the little things and especially for his friends, nurses, doctors, and aides that cared for him and for the loving family support that surrounded him each day making his life worth living. Tim is survived by one daughter, Lakisha Dawn Bunten-Morley, Mountain City, TN; mother and step-father, Selma and Ernest Fifer of Mountain City, TN; father, Lester Morley and paternal grandmother, Carrie Morley both of Shady Valley, TN; one brother, Rev. James Morley and special friend Phillip Kestner of Damascus, VA. Several special aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for "Tim" will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from the Mountain City Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Morley and Mr. Jim Swoager to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Sherry Tester. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church prior to Services. Honorary Pallbearers are: Members of Comet East Car Club and the Staff of the Spinal Chord Unit of McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia. "Tim" will lie in state on Tuesday at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home until 5:00 p.m. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Tim's Mother, Selma Fifer, 200 Woodland Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
