"Tiny" Daniel Shane Wilson

"Tiny" Daniel Shane Wilson, age 52, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Dan was born February 22, 1961, to the late Gar B. Wilson and Paris Sunshine Powell Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Harold Wilson. Dan taught Math at Johnson County High School for 21 years and was Vice Principal for 3 years before going to Northeast Correctional Center Complex as Principal for 2 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Dan was a member of Shouns United Methodist Church and had attended Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors are: sister, Evelyn Wilson Hill; brother, Larry Powell Wilson and sister, Carolyn Wilson Hawkins; several nieces and nephews: Brenda H. Bowman, William "Bill" Hill, Rebecca "Becky" H. Dearmond, Beverly H. Pritchard, Bridgette H.. Lowe, Tim Wilson, Anthony D. Wilson, Amy Wilson Gillespie, Jeffery P. Wilson, Jon Ros Grayson and MY BIG MEAN-Jill Grayson Stott. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews: Rachel B. Howell, Andrew Bowman, Mandy Hill, Gus Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Benjamin, Ellie and Jennie Pritchard, Sarah and Sophia Lowe, Emme and Reagan Gillespie, Hank Stott and Molly Daniels Stott. It was Dan's wishes to be cremated and no formal service held. However, a memorial book for family and friends to sign and memorial cards will be at Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942 or to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
