Tishie S. Laws

Tishie S. Laws, age 80, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, December 08, 2003 at the Watauga Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, she was born August 29, 1923 to the late Baxter "Tate" and Martha Shores Short. Tishie was preceded in death by her first husband; Carl Shoun, one sister; Lula Short and three brothers; Jim Short, Ronder Short and Walter Short. She was a homemaker, member of the Johnson County Senior Citizens, enjoyed quilting, working puzzles, gardening and fishing and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Tishie is survived by her husband; Earnest Laws of the home, three step-sons; Danny Laws of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Ricky Laws of Westburg, Virginia and Donald Laws of Chuckey, Tennessee, special nieces; Marjorie Shatley of Mountain City, Tennessee and Glad Owens of Versales, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews and several great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Tishie S. Laws will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 09, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Stidham to officiate. Music will be provided by Kenny and Lois Price. Family will receive friends 6-7:00 p.m. prior to services. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003 from the Shoun-McEwen Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Chriss Berardi, Todd Berardi, David Cooper, Heath Ashenback, Joel Walker and Doug Hornsby. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ray Shatley, Rev. Doug Stidham and Dr. John Whitlock.
