Obituary for: Thomas Dean Horne "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Surrounded by his loving family, Tom, age 63, met his Savior face to face as he entered into eternal rest on October 20, 2021. Tom was born April 24,1958 to the late Herbert David Horne and Alease Lois Pope Horne in Mountain City, TN. Tom was also predeceased by a sister, Susan Norris and a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Diana Horne. He was a history buff, a man of many talents, and enjoyed researching, acrylic and oil painting, golfing, nine ball pool, and carpentry. He had a deep passion for the beautiful birds he fed and enjoyed watching. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Army. Other than a most caring soul, he was humble, compassionate, honest, a great friend and believed that everyone he came into contact with should smile or laugh - he would always make sure they did. Tom leaves a strong testimony of how God has worked in his life and wants everyone to know that the most important thing is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters Jane Miller (Larry), Zionville, N.C. and Dorothy Matheson of Mountain City, TN. Brother, Charlie Horne (Betty) and brother-in-law, Doug Norris all of Mountain City, TN. Special friends, Norma McQueen, Jesse Cross, and so many more. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. Per Tom's wishes, his services will be private. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park with Reverend Terry Steele officiating. Pallbearers will be Jesse Cross, Derek Miller, Dillon McQueen, Bob Horn, Doug Norris, Gary South, and Buddy Laws.
