Anthony Edward “Tony” Lipfird, 55, of Evarts, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. Born August 9, 1961, he had lived in Harlan County all of his life.
He was a former superintendent of the Evarts Water System and believed in the Baptist faith. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin “Gunsmoke” Lipfird and Alma Branson Lipfird; a sister, Martha Faye Lipfird; and three brothers, Marvin Ray Lipfird, Johnny Lipfird and Tim Lipfird. Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn Kay Lipfird, Evarts; Junie Rose Lipfird Glenn and husband, Gary Trivette, Creston, NC; two brothers, Gary “Mooch” Lipfird and wife, Barb Pallau Lipfird, Franktown, VA; Marvin Jay Lipfird and wife, Carrie, Evarts; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 7 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend John Luttrell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm until the funeral hour.
His burial will be Wednesday at 11 am at the Evarts Memorial Gardens. Jimmy Lawson, Brit Lipfird, Dexter Lee Day, Michael Ross and Jon Daniels will serve as pallbearers. Please meet at the Evarts Funeral Home by 10:30 am to be part of the funeral procession.
