Vedie Pope

Vedie Pope, age 90, of Creston, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in the Margate Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born August 6, 1934 to the late Winston Vanover and Della Payne Vanover.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, three brothers and son in law, Bob Ritchie.

Vedie was of the Methodist faith.  She enjoyed going to flea markets, gardening and baking.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Mary Pope and Nancy Ritchie; son, Robert Pope (Joann); sisters, Lois Cox, Ferry Roark, Ruth Borror and Ruby Oliver; brother, Ralph Vanover; grandchildren, Kristie, Darlene, Randy and Savannah; great grandchildren, Autumn, Adrian, Hailey, Brice and Joseph; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Louise Caudell, Ruby Stout and Shirley and Glen Gambill.

Funeral service for Vedie will be private and officiated by Danny Farmer.

Pallbearers will be Charles Parlier, Richard Wittenberg, Bill Pope, Jimmy Patrick, Little John Miller and Micah Kolseth.

Memorial donations may be made to Hux & Lipford Funeral Home to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
