Ms. Vena E. Hodge, age 92, of 109 Powell Street, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away October 22, 2003 at the Johnson County Health Center. She was a native of Trade, Tennessee and was born June 22, 1911 to the late Link and Clara Alice Snyder Hodge. Ms. Hodge was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Sam and Lester Hodge and one sister Pauline Marrs. Ms. Hodge was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. Ms. Hodge is survived by three sisters; Faye Hodge of Mountain City, Tennessee, Bessy Hagy of Bluff City, Tennessee and Shirley Farmer of Concord, North Carolina, one brother; Garr Hodge of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Ms. Vena E. Hodge will be conducted 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Dickson to officiate. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. prior to services at Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003 from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers are: Jack Hackney, Bob Hackney, Michael Paul Johnson, Brian Barlow, Dustin Maynard, Josh Maynard, Brandon Robinson and David Mains. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jack Greer, Dwayne Thompson, Roger Gentry, Ray Henson, Bill Gambill and Joe Gwinn. Friends may also call the residences of Jack & Lisa Hackney, 430 East Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee or Faye Hodge, 222 Georgia Avenue, Mountain City, Tennessee.
