Vera Martin

Vera Martin, age 84 of 180 Martin Lane, Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton, Tennessee following an extended illness. Mrs. Martin was born May 8, 1921 the late Lillie Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Martin who passed away in 2001; one brother Tom Wright; and one sister, Jenna Lee Meade. She was retired from Levis Strauss of Mountain City, and was a Homemaker. She enjoyed Quilting and Her Pets. Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth Farmer and husband Michael B., of Creston, NC; one son, Dean Martin and wife Doris, of Shady Valley, TN; four grandchildren: Anthony Farmer and wife Lynn, of Creston, NC; Nathan Farmer, of Seattle, WA; Paul Martin, of Shady Valley, TN; and Rebecca McGlothlin and husband Barry, of Elizabethton, TN; three great-grandchildren: Catitlin Price, Kaylie and Benjamin McGlothlin; Graveside Services for Mrs. Martin will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11th,2006, from the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Derl McCloud to officiate. The Family will receive friends on Monday Evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Hux-Lipford funeral home. Arrangements for Mrs. Martin have been entrusted to Hux-Lipford Funeral Home of Mountain City, Tennessee. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime.
