Verdie Stanton

Ms. Verdie Stanton, age 90, of 1833 Lumpkin Branch Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday morning, August 28, 2012 at Johnson County Community Hospital. She was born August 25, 1922 to the late Frank E. Potter and Minnie Brewer Potter. She was a member of Rainbow Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl. E. Stanton, in December 1993. Survivors include: one son: Carl Stanton of Mountain City, TN; two sisters: Irene Andrews of Elizabethton, TN and Kate Stanton of Rogersville, TN; one brother: Boyd Potter of DE; three grandchildren; ffive great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Ms. Verdie Stanton will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from Dyson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Homer Vanover officiating. At other times friends may call at the home of the son Carl Stanton, 1829 Lumpkin Branch Road, Mountain City, TN.
