Virginia Donnelly Lewis

Virginia Dare Donnelly Lewis, age 86, of 344 Brushy Fork Road, Creston, North Carolina passed away, Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Lebanon, Virginia. Mrs. Lewis was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina and was born July 2, 1921 to the late Bruce Charles and Torrance Lillian Wilson Donnelly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Grace Elizabeth Donnelly Wilson and a brother Raymond Charles Donnelly. Her Husbands, Morris Franklin Lewis, Burl Ray Winebarger, James Louis Johnson and Willard Jack Lewis. She was retired from the State of North Carolina where she had served as Clerk of Superior Court in Ashe County, North Carolina for several years and was a County ommissioner for several years. She also was a former employee of Watauga Medical Center. She was a member of the Sutherland United Methodist Church and was active in the Republican party. She loved farming, gardening and her flowers.

                Great Grandchildren: Charles Clarence Bundy V, of Lebanon, Virginia
                                                   Jesselyn Noel Bundy of Lebanon, Virginia

                Three sisters: Anna Belle Donnelly Ragan of Trade, Tenn.
                                         Ruth Donnelly Duncan of Creston, North Carolina
                                         Margaret "Tootsie" Donnelly Wallace of Vilas, North Carolina

                One Brother: Joe Bruce Donnelly of Creston, North Carolina

Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive

Funeral services for Virginia Dare Donnelly Lewis will be held 2:00 p. m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 from the Sutherland United Methodist Church with Rev. Ricky Mitchell to officiate.
Burial and graveside services will be in the Mount Lawn Cemetery, Boone, North Carolina following the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be Nephews
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 from the Sutherland United Methodist Church prior the services.
