Virginia Mae Dugger, age 83, of 3011 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, Tennessee and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2006 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 24, 1922 to the late John Edward Slimp and the late Bertha Powell Mink. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dugger; one son, Douglas George Dugger; two daughters, Emma Karen Riffle and Tammy Denene Dugger; one brother, William David Mink and two sisters: Betty Dell Yokum and Ethel Bell Palmo. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Virginia was also a retired nurse. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and David Garland of Knoxville, TN; four sons and two daughters-in-law: Edward and Connie Dugger of Roanoke, Alabama, Steven and Susan Duggger, Kenneth Dugger and Richard Dugger, all of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Nola J. Lang; four brothers: George W. Mink, Howard H. Mink, Arlis Mink and Reese Mink; 17 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Many special friends also survive. Graveside Services for Virginia Mae Dugger were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006 from the Phillippi Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Campbell officiating.
