Virginia Phillippi

Virginia Phillippi, age 90 of 254 Cross Mountain Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away Friday March 6, 2020 at her residence. Virginia was an employee of Levi Strauss and a charter member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She was born October 18, 1929 in Doe Valley and was preceded in death by her parents, Sigh “S.C” Mullins and Ina Lee Mullins; her husband, Edwin “Tuck” Phillippi; three sons, Harold Phillippi, Bob Phillippi, and Jim Phillippi; three brothers, Curtis Mullins, Chet Mullins, and Sanford Mullins. She was a member of the Levi’s Retirees and loved cooking, canning, and traveling, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former Sunday School teacher and Bible School worker at her church. She is survived by her son, Roby Phillippi and wife Carol of Mountain City, Tennessee; three sisters, Wanda Davis (John) Mountain City, Tennessee, Earlene Defilippis, Lynda Sutherland (Ron) of Mountain City, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Faye Phillippi of Mountain City, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Jeff Phillippi, Maggie Kendrick, Richie Phillippi, Rob Phillippi, Dee Phillippi, Lisa Clawson, Jennifer Jones, Jessica Phillippi, Jeremy Phillippi and Jamie Phillippi. Many great and great, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Virginia will be held at the Bethany Baptist Church at 7:00 pm on Monday March 9, 2020. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the service with Dr. Gale Hartley, Rev. Dean Smith and Rev. John Perkins to officiate. Pallbearers: Shannon Kendrick, Jeffrey Cross, Justin Cross, Christian Phillippi, Jamie Phillippi, Jeremy Phillippi, and Josh Clawson. Honorary Pallbearers are the men of Bethany Baptist, The Doe Valley Sportsman Club, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be on Tuesday March 10th at 11 am from the Brookshire Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to cbmcamp.com in her memory.
