Virginia Runyon

God sent an angel to tenderly carry Virginia Runyon, age 93, to her home of eternal rest at the residence of her daughter on Monday, November 8, 2004. She was born on August 25, 1911 to the late Mitchell and Viola Sumner-Ayers. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Runyon, who passed away on November 22, 2003 and several brothers and sisters. Virginia was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Mountain City, Tennessee and was also a Sunday School Teacher there many years. Virginia is survived by one daughter, Donna Laws and husband Ron of Telford, TN; two sons, Richard Ayers and wife Wanda of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and Joseph Runyon and wife Lynne of Dayton, TN; one brother, Clinton Ayers of Beckley, West Virginia; five grandchildren; Misti Booher, Rhonda and Ashlei Laws, Joshua Runyon and Jami Dodd and four great grandchildren, Ashton and Keaton Dodd, Benjamin Laws and Seth Booher. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Virginia will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2004 from the First Freewill Baptist Church, Mountain City, Tennessee, with Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Jamie Ferguson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Jerry Horne and the Master's Touch. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Men of the First Freewill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel.
