Virginia Ann Wood, a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse and beloved member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church, passed away at her residence on March 23, 2026. Born on January 9, 1939, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Virginia's life was marked by a steadfast commitment to caring for others and a deep appreciation for her faith and community.

Throughout her career as an LPN, Virginia demonstrated unwavering compassion and professionalism, providing comfort and support to countless patients. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession into her personal life, where she was known for her love of reading, as well as her passion for bluegrass and gospel music,

Virginia is survived by her three daughters: Kathy (Mika) Brinkerhoff of Mountain City, Tennessee; Jennie (Mark) Johnson of Chesapeake, Virginia; and Marie (Greg) Smith of Winter Garden, Florida; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Cheek Lynn and Vergie Comelia McGee Lynn, two sisters, and a brother.

Virginia Ann Wood’s legacy is one of kindness, faith, and dedication. Her contributions to her family, church, and community remain enduring. She will be remembered with respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know her.
