Vivian Shupe, age 81, of 759 Cold Springs Road, Mountain City, passed away Wednesday October 27, 2004 at her home. She was a native of Johnson County and retired from Levi Strauss Company. She served on the Senior Center advisory board, was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for several years. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Doran E. Shupe of the home; one daughter, Pamela Johnson of Kingsport; one son, Perry Shupe and his wife Tina of Lilburn, Ga.; one sister, Effie Shoun of Delaware. Also six half -sisters and three half-brothers; seven grandchildren: Holly, Malave, April Johnson, Micah Johnson, Marie Kent, Jessica Shupe, Haley Shupe, Michelle Kent and great granddaughter, Layna Malave. Funeral services for Vivian Shupe will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, October 30, 2004 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Reece and Rev. Cecil Glenn to officiate. Burial will follow in the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be deacons and Adult Men's Sunday School of First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 9 until 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the Church and other times at the residence, 759 Cold Springs Road, Mountain City. For those who wish to omit flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church 421 W.
