Wade Woodard, age 81, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, and formerly of 311 Stage Road, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the Watauga Medical Center, Boone, North Carolina. A native of Johnson County, he was born August 5, 1924 to the late Noah and Verdie (Forrester) Woodard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and Elmer Woodard. He had farmed most of his life, loved bluegrass music, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four sisters: Villis Icenhour, Carrie May, Artanzie Howard, and Louise Forrester, all of Mountain City; four brothers: Jerry Woodard, Fredericksburg, VA; Dan Woodard, King George, VA; Paul Woodard, Bristol, VA; and Glen Woodard, Trade, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive Funeral services for Wade Woodard will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Entombment Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love.
