It is with a saddened heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Walter Scotty Gentry, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.  He was born August 1, 1965 to the late Bill Gentry and Violet Miller.

Scotty grew up in Shady Valley, Tennessee, where his family lived for many years.  He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Shady Valley Fire Department.  Scotty had a big, caring heart, always calling his friends and family to make sure they were all right.  He loved his friends and family dearly.  They all meant the world to him.  Scotty was a big fan of the Tennessee Vols.  He enjoyed watching them play football on TV.  You could always find him at Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center visiting with his brother Carroll, and all his friends who lived and worked there.  Scotty was a a member of South Side Baptist Church.

Scotty was preceded in death by his mother Violeet Miller, step-father, Howard Miller and father, Bill Gentry.

Those left to cherish his memory are  "sister" Robin Manuel of Mountain City; Tennessee; brother, Carroll Miller of Mountain City, Tennessee; special niece, Dawn Tester and husband, Jeff of Mountain City, Tennessee. Jeff was his go to guy for all things cell phone related; special cousin, Felecia "Cricket" Hoffman-Crum and Fiance Mike Hulbert of St. Petersburg, Florida; many nieces and nephews; all his friends at Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center, who took such good care of him and his best friend who he would also consider a brother, Dan Lipford also survives.
