Wayne E. Lipford

Wayne E. "Sammy" Lipford, age 67, of 608 Balick Road, Burgow, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2003. Mr. Lipford was a native of Beckley, West Virginia and was born on August 6, 1935 to the late Emmit and Myrtle Beber Lipford. He was retired from the US Army and was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Burgow, North Carolina. Mr. Lipford was preceded in death by his foster parents, Pete Howard and Delia Howard Denney; one brother, Blaine Lipford, and three sisters, Betty Woods, Cupie Shepherd, and Mary Hunter. Survivors: Wife: Beverly Lipford, of the home (1) Daughter: Tanika Lipford, Burgaw, NC (1) Son: Peter Lipford, New Bern, NC Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. A memorial service for Wayne E. "Sammy" Lipford will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 21, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral home with Mr. Dwayne Dixon to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Ted Gentry. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Friday, February 21, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
