Wendell Glenn Pleasant

Wendell Glenn Pleasant, age 46, of 2864 Highway 421 North, Mountain City passed away, Sunday, June 1, 2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Mountain City, Tennessee and was born August 31, 1956 to the late Estel Pleasant in 1979 and Loveta Shipley Pleasant of Mountain City, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Pleasant. He was a millwright and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his mother: (2) Daughters: Wendy Henley, Mountain City, Tennessee Amanda Fletcher, Greenville, Tennessee (1) Son: Jonathan Pleasant, Boone, North Carolina (3) Sisters: Mildred Eastridge, Creston, North Carolina Sharon Merryman, Elizabethton, Tennessee Jackie Deeth, Ironwood, Michigan (2) Brothers: Anthony Pleasant, Mountain City, Tennesse Norman Pleasant, Mountain City, Tennessee Special Friend: Christine Greer, Mountain City, Tennessee Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Wendell Glenn Pleasant, age 46, of 2864 Highway 421 North, Mountain City will be held 8:00 P. M. Tuesday, June 3, 2003 from the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Norris and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Music will be under the Direction of Marrissa Norris Pianist will be Walter Johnson. Graveside services and burial will be held 1:00 P. M. Wednesday from the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Joe Eastrdge, Joey Eastridge, Jamie Eastridge, Adam Merryman, Daniel Merryman, Danny Cornett, and Benji Pleasant.. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Doug Merryman, Paul Johnson, Dr. Michael Kaplan, Dr. Steven Smith, Dr. Jay Mehta, and Ricky Cornett. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, %Trula Muse, 239 Sunset Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 P.
