Wilbie Bentley, age 85, of Shady Valley, TN passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 in Abingdon, VA following an extended illness. She was born February 2, 1927 to the late Timothy D. and Nevada McQueen Roark. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Curtis McCoy Bentley and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: one daughter: Joan Trent and husband Walter of Damascus, VA; one son: Ronald "Coy" Bentley and wife Wanda of Shady Valley, TN; one sister: Beatrice Hawks of Mountain City, TN and one granddaughter: Melissa Warden and husband Jay of Bluff City, TN. Special friends, Taco and Abby, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Wilbie Bentley will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. James Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends from6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA.
