Wiley "Dub" Arthur Potter, age 77, of 315 Stout Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at his residence on Friday October 8, 2004 following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, he was born on July 4, 1927 to the late W.A. Potter and Lula Wagner Potter. In addition to his parents, Dub was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Joe Potter. He had retired from Burlington Industries. Dub was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army. Dub is survived his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Sanders Potter, of the home; mom, Cleo Potter of Mountain City; two sisters, Nelle Snyder of Shady Valley, Tennessee and Tula Wilson of Mountain City, Tennessee. Nieces and Nephews; Keith Wilson and wife Nancy, Danny Ray Wilson and wife Janet , Poochie Isaacs, David Kirby and wife Elaine, Erlene Lay, Larry Adams and wife Willa Gray, Billy Ray Pardue and wife Bitha and Bill McFadden and wife Kathy. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Dub will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2004 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Campbell to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Kenny Price. Graveside Services and Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Ketih Wilson, Danny Ray Wilson, Larry Adams, Billy Ray Pardue, Bill McFadden and Buster Kirby. Honorary Pallbearers are the Men's Sunday School Class of the Antioch Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Chapel, prior to Services. At other times, friends may call at the residence. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.hux-lipford.com. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is serving the Potter Family.
