Mr. Wiley Jenkins, age 73, of 107 Waddell Road, Laurel Bloomery, TN passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Johnson County Community Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, Wiley was born on July 16, 1933 to the late Maynard Jenkins and Etta Snyder Jenkins. He was a carpenter and a member of the Ackerson Creek Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Carpenter's Union and loved to drive throughout Johnson County. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Riddle Jenkins; a daughter, Mary Kathern Jenkins; four sisters, Hazel Jenkins, Pearl Shupe, Bessiley Moretz, and Kate Raines; two brothers, Leonard Jenkins and R.C. Jenkins. Surviving Mr. Jenkins are one daughter, Jennifer Mannis and husband Greg of Butler, TN; one son, Leonard "Darryl" Jenkins and wife Marybeth of Mountain City, TN; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Wiley Jenkins will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Trivette to officiate. Graveside services and interment will follow the funeral service from the Phillippi Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00p.m. until 7:30p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
