William W. “Bill” Moore age 91 of Mountain City passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Moore was a native of Washington County, Virginia and was
a son of the late George W. and Gertrude Wills Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Greer Moore who passed away in 1984, also by a son, Patrick Moore, two brothers, Ernest Moore and Irby Moore and a sister Sarah Hawkins. He was retired from Maymead Farms and the State of TN Highway Department. He was a Deacon and Member of the First Baptist Church, loved gardening and yard work.
Survivors: include:
One daughter and husband: Mary Ann and Harry Walsh of Kingsport, TN
One son and wife: Rick and Elaine Moore of Mountain City
Four grandchildren: Becky and Husband Rick Stewart of Rye Cove, VA, Joe and wife Julie Walsh of Knoxville, TN, Mikah and husband Eric Farrow of
Mountain City and Thomas Moore of Mountain City
Two Great Grandchildren: Madisyn Farrow of Mountain City and Olivia Walsh of Knoxville, TN
Very special Friend: Grace Rupard of Laurel Bloomery, TN
Several nieces and nephews also survive
Funeral services for William W. “Bill” Moore will be held 3:00 p. m. Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Campbell, Rev. Jim Norman and Mr. Richard Moorhouse ministers to officiate.
Music will be under the direction of Mr. Joe Simcox , Soloist and Mrs. Barbara Wilson, Pianist
Pallbearers will be Thomas Moore, Joe Walsh, Bill Greer, Donald Greer, Jim Greer,
Eric Farrow and Rick Stewart
Honorary Pallbearers will be, all of his special friends
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a. m. until 3:00 p. m. Saturday, February 2, 2008 from the First Baptist Church prior to his service.
Other times friends may call at the home of his son, Rick and Elaine Moore, 187 Hammond Lane, Mountain City at anytime.
In lieu of flowers those who wish memorials may be made to the Gideon International of
