Wilma Stansberry Campbell, age 78, of 821 R.D. Campbell Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 following an extended illness. A native of Avery County, North Carolina, she was born April 21, 1926 to the late Arthur and Bertie Coffee Stansberry. Wilma was a former employee of the Blue Ridge Shoe Company. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Wilma was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She was also a member of the Women's' Missionary Union (WMU). In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by five brothers; Wade, Beeler, Carl, Orrin and Dallas Stansberry and two sisters; Edna Fritts and Ada Slemp. Wilma is survived by her husband of 60 years, R.D. Campbell of the home, one daughter; Maxine Carter and husband Ken of Kingsport, one son; Dean Campbell and wife Jean of Butler, one sister; Josie Hardy of Fort Wayne, Indiana, three grandchildren; Renee Hobbs of Duluth, Georgia, Beverly Potter and Buzz Campbell both of Mountain City and three great grandchildren; Elizabeth Potter, Tabitha Potter and Cheyenne Campbell, all of Mountain City. Funeral Services for Wilma will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. H. Brooks Peters and Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Rock Springs Baptist Church Choir. Family will receive friends 6-7:45 p.m. prior to services. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2004 from the Rock Springs Cemetery, Butler, Tennessee. Active Pallbearers will be Howard Stanbery, Hubert Stanbery, Bud Cornett, Bob Graybeal, Jim Fritts, John Stout and Ron Murphy. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Donald Tarr, Dr. Raina Sluder, Dr. Michael Kimbro, Employees of the Mountain City Care Center and Employees of Housecall Home Health. Family and Friends are asked to assemble at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Cemetery for Services. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 821 R.D. Campbell Road, Butler, Tennessee 37640.
