Wilson Andy Harris Jr.

Wilson "Andy" Harris Jr., age 66, of 652 Willens Gap Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away December 08, 2003 at his residence in Salt Springs, Florida. He was born August 13, 1937 to the late Wilson Andrew and Catharine Cawley Harris Sr. Andy was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force and United States Navy, from which he retired in 1978 as Petty Officer 1st Class. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Mountain City, Tennessee. He was a School Bus Driver and Substitute Teacher for the Johnson County High School and Vocational School. Andy was a skilled carpenter and was always willing to give a helping hand. Andy is survived by his wife of 43 years; Phyllis C. Harris of the home, one son and daughter-in-law; W.A. Harris III and wife Alyssa, two brothers; Charles C. Harris and wife Janet of Burlington, North Carolina and William B. Harris Sr. and wife Gloria of Cincinnati, Ohio, one sister; Martha Kay and Wayne Davis of Clifton, Virginia, two Aunts; Bessie Corder of Fayetteville, West Virginia and Jessie Harris of Falls Church, Virginia and Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services for Wilson "Andy" Harris, Jr. will be held 7:00 a.m.Wednesday, December 10, 2003 from the First Baptist Church of Salt Springs, Florida with Dr. Bob Hines and Rev. Amos Price to officiate. A second Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 from the Roan Creek Baptist Church of Mountain City, Tennessee with Rev. Danny Burnham and Rev. Derl McCloud to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Church Choir. Family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to services. Military Graveside Services will conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard from the Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, Tennessee following services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roan Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 639 Lumpkin Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee.
